President,
It is with utmost delight that I welcome you to the official website of The Literary and Debating Society, University of Ibadan. It has always been my desire to serve the society and I am happy that my best is being put forward to see to the success of this administration. I got handed over to on 4th March, 2020 and presently, I can boast of the wonderful achievements we have recorded so far.
As President of this society, I am using this medium to appreciate all past leaders of this society, senators and my executive council members who have made the job easy for me. I am glad, indeed and I look forward to getting more from them.
This year, we have positioned ourselves for global recognition and are ready to absorb all that is in stock for us, we have deliberately instituted an embodiment of excellence that will serve as a legacy for the forthcoming administrations and I so desire that whoever will be coming to this seat next works better, harder and greater than I have, for me to record a success equally.
By the way, the largest students’ event and public speaking tournament is on its way and (smiles) absolutely, we are taking Jaw War to another level. Yes! Jaw War is going on a larger scale as we will be getting other institutions of learning involved. In short, Jaw War is going national. If there’s one thing students of the University of Ibadan enjoy, it is the aura of getting to participate in Jaw War. This is not because it is a students’ event alone but because they see the value it has. They love it! They want it! They love that feeling of having to support their halls’ representatives! They want the beauty of seeing friends debate on a stage of frenzy, intellect, passion and edutainment.
Jaw War 2021 will be a memorable tournament especially that the students from other schools will be hosted at The University of Ibadan to prove their best of debate abilities, topmost of research and investigative skills, broadest elocution talent and overall spectacle of confidence. Ladies and gentlemen, watch out for this special edition and make yourself as comfortable as possible to enjoy the best of moments ever.
